Ahead of the upcoming FIFA 16
simulation game, Naij.com shortlisted
the best rated players from the latest
release of the sorted after game
series.
NOTE: There are some notable
misses like Emmanuel Emenike,
Fegor Ogude, Austin Ejide and Carl
Ikeme.
1. Joel Obi (72): The midfielder
pulled out of the games against
Tanzania and Niger due to a muscle
injury. He is only 24 years old and a
few years off the injury table will do
the former Inter Milan prodigy a lot of
good.
Joel Obi
2. Sylvester Igboun (72): He played
against Tanzania last weekend at the
2017 African Of Nations qualifiers, he
current plays from the wings and he
has a high rating of 92 for his pace.
Career mode lovers will love to have
him in their team.
3. Godfrey Oboabona: (72): The
center-back has not looked
impressive in recent years but a
rating of 72 could go higher if he
regains the form he showed when
Nigeria lifted the Nations Cup in
2013.
4. Odion Ighalo (72): A rather
surprising rating. Ighalo scored well
over 20 goals last season as Watford
gained promotion to the Premier
League. Ighalo also looks out of
favour with Sunday Oliseh also but a
few good goals will make EA Sports
reconsider his rating in FIFA 17.
Odion Ighalo.

4. Jerry Mbakogu (73): Still
uncapped, Mbakogu has impressed
in the Italian top-flight with newly
promoted Capri. 89 for pace and 78
for physicality means he is a real
handful for any defender in the game.
6. Raheem Lawal (73): The
Eskisehirspor midfielder was rated 63
in FIFA 15 but a successful season
at club level means he is boosted to
73. Hopefully his stock can continue
to rise.
7. Victor Anichebe (73): You get a
feeling that Anichebe is overrated if
Ighalo is rated 72. The West Brom
striker was told he could leave his
club during the recent transfer
window but decided to stay. The
Nigerian striker is taking a sabbatical
from the national team to sort his
club career and injury worries. 8. Sone Aluko (74): The Hull City
midfielder will be fondly remembered
for those two goals against Kenya in
the 2015 AFCON qualifiers in 2014.
He however suffered relegation with
his team last season.
9. Brown Ideye (74): Ideye left West
Brom in August after a disappointingj
season, his performance was poor.
Recently, the club’s director revealed
he was signed on recommendations
that could not be trusted.
Brown Ideye
10. Peter Odemwingie (75): The
winger cum striker is rated highly at
75 despite an injury plagued
2014/2015 season. Constant injury
has robbed him of his speed and
scoring abilities.
11. Imoh Ezekiel (75): The winger
cum striker has said he would love to
play for Belgium but a move to Qatari
club in the UAE has done his
chances a lot of harm. He is 21 year
old and has a lot of years ahead of
him. His pace is rated at 93.
12. Elderson Echiejile (75):
Unspectacular but efficient, effective
and consistent is how best you could
describe the left-back. The Super
Eagles defender would have to
compete with Real Madrid left-back
Fabio Contreao for a place in the first
team of AS Monaco.
13. Ogenyi Onazi (75): Another
player rated 75 for FIFA 16. Onazi is
on the rise and attracted interest
from Liverpool and Tottenham which
tells a lot about the midfielder. He
has a broad spread of abilities.
Ogenyi Onazi
14. Anthony Ujah (76): After helping
Cologne escape relegation last
season in spectacular circumstances,
it was a matter of when Ujah would
be recognized by FIFA. EA Sports has
done good to give him a good rating.
15. Ahmed Musa (76): Speedy is
how you can best describe the raw
talent called Ahmed Musa. He has a
pace score of 89 and dribbling ability
of 81. Hmmm, am I seeing career
mode lovers bidding for the 22 year
old CSKA Moscow man.
16. Victor Moses (76): Despite an
injury plagued 2014/2015, Moses is
highly rated. If he can regain the
form he showed with Wigan and
Crystal Palace earlier in his career,
Moses will enter the 80’s no doubt.
He has the talent and attitude to
match it. 17. John Mikel Obi (77): Slowly
Mikel is becoming a forgotten man in
Chelsea. He seems to have lost the
trust of Mourinho who would rather
play a defender (Kurt Zouma) in his
preferred midfield base position). 77
is not bad for the two-time Chelsea
young player of the year.
18. Ike Uche (78): Ike Uche is highly
rated which could race a few high
brows. He has been overlooked by
recent Eagles handlers due to his
style of play but a pace of 86 and
dribbling of 80 means he is can pose
problems.
19. Obafemi Martin (79): Obagoal
has been overlooked by Stephen
Keshi and now Sunday Oliseh but he
keeps turning heads in America
where he plays for MLS side, Seattle
Sounders. He is one of the fastest
players in the game with a pace of
91.
Obafemi Martin in Action
20. Vincent Enyeama (81): The only
player in the Eagles squad who can
claim to have world class abilities.
The Eagles skipper has gone from
strength to strength since he joined
Lille of France two years ago.

Buhari defends appointments
Abuja - President Muhammadu
Buhari on Tuesday defended his
recent appointments criticised by
many Nigerians as lopsided, reports
Daily Trust
The President said he nominated
people he could trust and who had
worked with him for years.
Buhari in an interview with the BBC
Hausa Service on Tuesday, said the
Constitution allows him full control
over the choice of his closest
officials. He stated that the appointments also
served as reward for those who
remained loyal to him for years and
who refused to be lured by power or
material wealth.

to the controversy generated by his

Ex-minister dares Buhari to publish looters names
Abuja - A former Minister of Lands,
Housing and Urban Development,
Nduese Essien, on Tuesday urged
the Federal Government to publish
names of treasury looters who had
returned the stolen funds.
Essien made the call in an interview
with the News Agency of Nigeria in
Eket, Akwa Ibom State.
According to him, publishing the
names of the looters will make more
impact in the fight against
corruption.
“President Muhammadu Buhari
should publish those names that
have willingly returned stolen wealth
or those who have been forced to
return stolen money.
“Let the public know how much has
been returned, where it is paid into
and its ultilisation. “We don’t want a situation where
money is returned and we don’t know
where the money has gone to,” he
said.
Essien called on the government to
ensure that recovered fund was used
to develop the country and in the
interest of the masses, who had been
deprived.
He lauded the government’s anti-
corruption war, saying that it had
made people to sit up.
“People are now afraid of indulging in
corrupt activities for fear of being
investigated after leaving office,” he
said.
He expressed optimism that the anti-
corruption war would work under
Buhari, because he would not
condone corrupt practices.
The former minister added that the
war should be extended to persons
working in the Presidency.
“Anti-corruption crusade is not
suppose to hinge entirely on the
past; it should also prevent those
who are working with the President
presently from getting involved in
corrupt activities,’’ he said.

Solidstar Condemns NEA Awards
The Nigerian Entertainment Awards
(NEA) took place last Sunday,
September 6, in New York City and
many sources have described it as a
huge success.
solidstar5
But Nigerian pop star and Achievas
Entertainment singer, Joshua Iniyezo,
better known as Solidstar thinks
otherwise. He said the awards do not
interpret what they represent.
The Baby Jollof singer said
the awards have been watered down
and now goes to the highest bidder,
without the need
recognising creativity.
Solidstar said good music does not
get the awards, but rather ‘famzers’
get nominated while ‘highest bidders’
win the awards.
Solidstar
Solidstar did not even make the
nominee list of NEA so many
wondered what his outrage
was about. He wrote on Twitter:
most of these Nigerian awards are
just jokes! especially NEA!

Buhari Strikes Again, Find Out What He Did
Nigeria’s president, Muhammadu
Buhari, has ordered the reduction of
Nigeria’s foreign missions abroad.
President Muhammadu Buhari
According to reports by Nation,
Permanent Secretary of the ministry
of foreign affairs, Amb. Paul Bulus
Lolo said due to the economy
situation of the country, the nation
must reduce the present 119
missions abroad.
“We also talked about the state of our
embassies abroad. All of these in the
context of what Nigeria aspires to be
at home, in the sub-region, in the
continent and across the globe. “Mr. President asked the ministry to
be realistic in terms of our
representation abroad. We have 119
missions. He asked the questions
whether we need to have that number
or we rationalized based on our
capacity. Right now, the economy is
looking down. We are trying to revive
and revamp. It is a matter of time.
“The specific directive that he has
given is that a committee be formed
to look at the whole issue of our
representation abroad, the size and
the number of missions on whether
or not the number should remain the
same or we do something about
those numbers.” He however failed to reveal when it
would announce the reduction in the
foreign mission.
“That will be done as soon as
possible. No specific time frame, but
he said the sooner, the better. Action
needs to be taken.”.

Diamond Platnumz Finally Speaks On Paternity Issue
Tanzanian music superstar Diamond
Platnumz recently chatted with
Lil-iyke. mywapblog.com where he spoke about the
paternity brouhaha which followed
the birth of a baby girl by his current
girlfriend.
The younger brother of the ex-
boyfriend of Diamond’s girlfriend had
claimed that the singer was not the
father of the the baby girl, Tiffah.
The singer told lil-iyke.mywapblog.com : “ Let me be
sincere with you, nobody knows (the
ex-boyfriend’s brother). He is only
trying to get fame from me. I have
never spoken about the issue.
Anyone that asked me about it, I just
keep quiet. I don’t really want to talk
about it. They do everything to
provoke me so I can talk about it and
gain the cheap popularity they crave
for. All I can say is I am the real
father of my child. I have all proofs
and everything, that is why I don’t
bother myself. Let them talk while I
continue working.”
Diamond also spoke on the growth of
the Tanzanian music industry as
compared to Nigeria’s.
He said: “Let me not lie to you, back
in the day, our industry was down
but now Tanzanian industry is going
higher thanks to everyone who has
been on this. Me, my management
and other artistes from Tanzania, we
are trying to push it up so we can
have a better industry. Also, thanks
to Nigerian artistes; they have been
helping me to push the industry up.”
He also confirmed that despite his
growing popularity in Nigeria, his
major fan base still remained in
Tanzania.
He said: ‘Home is home bro. I am
from Tanzania, they knew me back in
the days, like sixteen years ago, so
they know me better than here.”

Drama As Congregation Chases Lagos Pastor From Pulpit
Hell was let loose yesterday, Sunday,
August 30, at the United Methodist
Church, in the Oshodi area of Lagos.
The church premises
The Punch reports that members of
the church rejected their pastor and
chased him away for allegedly
impregnating his housemaid who is
also a member of his church.
According to report, the pastor,
Barkuma Andrew, was stopped from
leading the church seven months
ago when the housemaid, Grace, had
complications after aborting the
pregnancy. The pastor lives with his
wife, children, wife’s cousin, Favour,
and Grace in a three-bedroom flat
inside the church premises.
It was reported that the members had
pleaded with the Central Conference
of the church in Taraba State to help
look into the alleged incident.
However, when the district did not do
anything about it, the congregation
sought the service of another pastor
three weeks ago. The congregation
got to church at about 10am
yesterday for Sunday service only to
see that Andrew and some “unknown”
people had commenced the service.
This sprouted the anger of the
members of the church as they
chased pastor Andrew and his folks
out of the church. Men from the
Makinde police division, including
the DPO, were said to have
intervened after the incident was
reported at the station. A member of
the church and a former secretary to
Andrew, Moses Sherima, said that the
pastor sent his wife to her village
when he impregnated Grace. He said:
“My room is opposite pastor’s
apartment and I was his secretary.
When he started dating that girl
(Grace), I called his wife’s cousin,
Favour, on the matter. She said
Grace used to tell her whenever the
pastor had sex with her. At a point, I
had to move upstairs when I could
no longer bear it. The day that
abortion happened, I was sleeping
inside my room when I heard Grace
screaming. I rushed there and saw
blood coming out from her private
parts. When the wife came back from
one of her numerous journeys, he
told her to send Favour away.”
Another church member, John
Komboroh, said the church was
embarrassed by Andrew’s conduct,
adding that they were tired of his
leadership. He said:
“The petition of adultery against the
pastor had been sent to the bishop at
the Central Conference. He came
here, but did not do anything about
it. That was why we wrote to the
main body, the Southern Conference
to give us another pastor. His
(Andrew’s) action is an
embarrassment to us. We don’t want
him again.”
The new pastor of the church,
Reverend James Sunday, said:
“We were about to start our service
this morning when we met the old
pastor and some unknown people
already holding the service. I calmed
down my people to avoid chaos.”
Another resident and a female
member, who identified herself only
as Blessing, said the pastor had once
made sexual advances to her.
“My husband is not always at home.
The pastor would call me in the night
and asked if I had slept. One day he
entered my room and gave me a soft
slap on my back. I had only the
wrapper on me. I was surprised and
told my neighbours.” When contacted on the telephone
around 1pm on Sunday, Andrew said
he was in a meeting and promised to
get back to The Punch on the
incident. He told The Punch Metro
that he was still at the meeting when
he was called back around 5pm.
Meanwhile, a South African pastor,
Pastor Peniel, is popularly known for
a number of strange acts. He had fed
his congregation live snake . He had
turned human hair into food for the
consumption of the church members.
He was arrested and charged with
animal cruelty after feeding his
congregants snake but he later
released on bail and he said the
South African police do not know
who they are fighting .
Irate members of the EFF brigade had
reportedly set the church ablaze
about two weeks ago, vowing to feed
Mnguni snakes and rodents, exactly
as he had done to members of his
ETDM church.
